Caring in Common

In 2025, in the throes of distress, rage and overwhelm watching genocides unfold, the rise of the far right in the UK and terrifying ecological breakdown, we developed Caring in Common: a communal journey for resourcing hope in times of despair. This was a dedicated space for folks who, like us, care deeply about justice, but who found themselves stuck in the depths of grief, rage, hopelessness or numbness, feeling isolated, burned out and torn between wanting to ‘do more’ and feeling frozen.

Over Spring 2026, we brought 11 caring souls together over 8 online sessions to explore shared feelings of grief, rage, hope and determination, and to engage with embodied practices to help turn these feelings into meaningful action.

Participant testimonies:

“It felt important to have a consistent weekly space where I would repeatedly draw the links between caring for soul and spirit and the struggle towards liberation.”

“I see the love and labour that went to all of this. I loved the ancestors, I loved the grief, every session had something helpful for me. It has given me a stronger sense of purpose.”

“I needed to be held in this space. I don't have all the words for why and how its moving through me, but it is.”

“Learned so much - about grounding, that connection is important, how to be with my rage and grief a bit better, how to be kind to myself whilst dealing with injustice.”

"It's been a huge blessing to be in this sacred space, to be held with respect and love and care.”
